Our History

In October, 2001, Lake Brandt Veterinary Housecalls was created to offer professional in-home veterinary care, with a focus on providing extraordinary customer service. At that time, Dr. Jim Lofgren used his home as a facility to offer surgery, x-ray and hospitalization services.

The business quickly grew and, in 2005, Dr. Lofgren decided to build a modern veterinary hospital facility in order to accommodate the expanding practice. In December of that year, Lake Brandt Veterinary Hospital and Housecalls opened its doors to offer even more comprehensive care, while still providing housecalls for those who required it.

Since that time, our staff and abilities continue to grow, but our commitment to outstanding customer service and compassionate patient care will never waiver.

We Were Happy to Receive

Chief's Award

On May 17, 2012, Dr. Lofgren and the staff of Lake Brandt Veterinary Hospital were awarded the Chief's Award by the Greensboro Police Department, in honor of their service to the department's active and retired canine officers. Dr. Lofgren and the staff were nominated for this honor by Corporal H.E. Summers, Jr., SOD, Canine Unit. Following are excerpts from Corporal Summers' letter of nomination:

Nomination Text

"I would like to nominate Dr. James Lofgren and the staff of Lake Brandt Veterinary Hospital for the Chief's Award for their longtime support of the Greensboro Police Department's Canine Unit and other canine assets within the Department."

"Dr. Jim Lofgren and his staff understand the care and needs for maintaining healthy canine partners and have treated the veterinary needs of the Canine Unit since 2001. Dr. Lofgren and the staff of Lake Brandt Veterinary Hospital have researched the care and needs of working police canines and have the knowledge and experience to provide quality canine care to us."

"The care of our police canine partners does not end once the dogs are retired. Dr. Jim Lofgren and the staff of Lake Brandt Vererinary Hospital appreciate the dedicated work of our canine partners and have unselfishly provided continued veterinary maintenance care of retired police canines at no cost to the foster care officers."

Very clean, everyone was so nice. Our dog is not easy going with other people and they really worked with her and she did great. Dr. Lofgren is fantastic! Not close as where we've been going but he's worth it. Explained so we could understand and answered all our questions. Great place!!!
